The Presbyterian Church has a strong commitment to supporting education. To that end, the women’s association, Anna Harter Walter Association, founded a preschool in 1969 and it continues today. While our school has undergone numerous changes since it’s inception, it is still our purpose to serve the community and witness God’s love for us by preparing children to meet the challenges of kindergarten. Our preschool board is committed to making our school the best it can be. The classroom has been updated to make it exciting and stimulating for our students. The décor is cheerful and friendly and there are fun learning tools throughout the room. Our teacher is Mrs. Meredith Boaz and we believe her to be a positive and enthusiastic role model for the children. She is also dedicated to providing our students with an outstanding early childhood education. Her goal is for each child that attends to learn the basic knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the public school system. At the present time, our preschool is open to the children of parents who might not otherwise be able to afford such an opportunity for their children. They must be four years old by July 1 of the current year. Ours is a free preschool supported by the church’s AHWA. A Holiday Bazaar is held annually on the first Thursday in November. The proceeds from the Bazaar, plus donations from interested people, fund the preschool and allow it to continue. The school year runs from the Wednesday after Labor Day through the Friday before Memorial Day. Class is from 9:00 am till 11:30 am on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
